枝迫雄大 / Yudai Edasako (occupation : office worker)

みなさん、こんにちは。今回のPEOPLISMは枝迫雄大さんです。
彼のISMは「人からの誘いは断らない主義」です。加えて、運命主義的な部分も少なからずあるとのこと。「先約がある時とかもあるんですけどね。常に流れには乗るようにしていますし、全てのことに意味があると思っています。コミュニティを一番大切にしているから、貰っている給料はほとんど飛んじゃうんですけどね。」と彼は語ります。彼のISMを深掘りしてみましょう。
Q. このISMに至った背景や理由などはあるのでしょうか。
– いつの間にかそうなっていた部分は大きいと思います。でも大きく2つ理由があって、1つ目は行って損したことがないこと。2つ目は、少し甘えの部分もあるんですけど、もしお金があんまりなくても、誘われて行くと誰かが払ってくれたりするんですよね。そういう経験があったからこそ、この主義を持てています。
Q. 何かエピソードがあれば教えてくれますか。
– 友人の留学タイミングでパーティーがあって、そこで偶然にも意気投合した人がいたんです。今度は帰国したタイミングで集まった時に、その意気投合した人にいきなり結婚式に誘われて。会うのは３回目とかでしたけど、お祝いの気持ちもあるし、行ったら絶対面白いなと思って。迷いはありませんでした。
Q. 主義をお伺いした際に「運命主義的な部分もあるかもしれない」と話してくれました。何か思うところがあったのでしょうか。
– シンガポールで歩いていると、偶然すれ違ったインド人の方がずっとこっちを見てきて。話してみると色々言い当てられたりしたんですよ。特に気になったのが「9、10月に大きなことが起こる」って言われたんです。そしたらちょうどさっき話した結婚式が10月にあって、そこである女性に会いました。その女性との出会いは、自分の人生でとても大きなもので「本当に運命的な部分もあるんだな」と感じたんです。
Q. 誘いを断らないことの背景には、運命主義的な部分があるんですね。
– そうですね。全てを断らないわけではないんですが、行かないのも運命だし、行けないのも運命、逆に急遽行けるようになるのも運命だと思ってます。

「オズの魔法使い」のエピソードを描いた演劇の曲目の1つ。ニューヨークで実際に観劇してからずっと聴いているそうです。

Hi everyone. This issue of PEOPLISM features Yudai Edasako.
His ISM is “Never turn down an invitation – ISM”. In addition, he also believes kind of fate. ”Of course, there are times when I have a prior commitment. I always try to go with the flow, and I think everything has a meaning. I value the community the most, though, so my paycheck is almost always gone.” He says. Let’s dig deeper into his ISM.
Q. What is the background or reason for this ISM?
– It already happened before I knew it. But there are two main reasons: first, I’ve never lost anything by going, and second, if I don’t have much money, someone else will pay for it. I have this ISM because of those experiences.
Q. Can you tell us about any episodes?
– There was a party at the timing of my friend’s study abroad, and I happened to hit it off with a guy there. We met again when my friend returned to Japan, and the person I hit it off with suddenly invited me to his wedding. It was the third time that we had met, but I thought it would definitely be interesting to go. I had no hesitation.
Q. When I asked you about ISM, you told me that you believe in kind of fate. Did you have any thoughts on this?
– When I was walking in Singapore, an Indian guy I happened to pass kept looking at me. When I talked to him, he told me many things. One in particular caught my attention: “Something big is going to happen in September or October.” Then the wedding I mentioned earlier was in October, and I met a woman there. Meeting that woman was a very big thing in my life, and I felt that there really is such a thing as fate.
Q. So there is a part of you that believes in fate behind the fact that you don’t turn down invitations.
– Yes, it is. It doesn’t mean that I don’t turn down everything, but I believe that it is fate if I don’t go, fate if I can’t go, or fate if I suddenly become able to go.

This is one of the songs from a play about an episode of “The Wizard of Oz.” He has been listening to it ever since he actually saw the play in New York.
